STAMPIN'UP HEY HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHICK SQUARE POP-UP CARD

MEASUREMENTS

Cut Card base 4 1/4” X 11”, score at 5 1/2”.

Cut 1 piece of white cardstock for front 4" X 5 1/4"

Cut 6” square of same cardstock.

Cut four squares of basic white cardstock, each 2 3/4” X 2 3/4”.  Cut one of these squares in half, diagonally.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Score 4 1/4" X 11" piece at 5 1/2"
  • Score  6" square at 3".  Turn and score at 3".  Score from one corner to diagonal corner.  Fold and burnish on all score lines.
  • Decorate the white cardstock for the front of the card.  I used the All Wired Up stamp and the Hey Happy Birthday Chick Bundle.
  • Decorate each piece of white cardstock to be used on the inside.  Adhere each piece on the sections created by the score lines.  Pay attention to the orientation of each piece so that they will all face the same way as the card is opened.
  • Fold the 6" square in on itself so that all the white pieces are tucked inside and you have a 3" square.
  • Holding this square as it will be placed on the inside of the card.  Turn over and put adhesive on the back.
  • Center this square on the inside back of the card with the tip of the square at the score line of the card base.
  • Put adhesive on the the top of the 3" square.
  • Lower the card front down on the square and press so the square is now adhered to the back and front of the card.

FOUR FOLD CARD WITH STAMPIN'UP HEY CHICK BUNDLE

I made this card for my friend Lorraine who moved to Edmonton.  I'll miss you!

1 piece of cardstock 5 1/2 X 11 1/2"

1 piece of cardstock 3" X 4 1/4"

5 pieces of coordinating cardstock; 1 piece 3 3/4" X 5", 2 pieces 3" X 4 3/8" and 2 pieces 2 1/2 X 3 3/4"

5 pieces of white cardstock; 1 piece 3 1/2 X 4 3/4", 2 pieces 2 3/4" X 4 1/4" and 2 pieces 2 1/4" X 3 1/2"

Instructions

  • Score the 5 1/2" X 11 1/2" piece of cardstock at 1/4", at 3 3/4" a nd at 7 1/4"
  • On the long side, score at 5/8" just as far as the last score line.  Then cut on that score line to the last score line.
  • Adhere the 3" X 4 1/4" cardstock to the 1/4" strip at one end of the long cardstock, even with the bottom.  Snip off the remainder of the 1/4" strip to the end.
  • Decorate the pieces of white cardstock as desired.  I used a blender brush and odd shapes of white cardstock to create the effect of clouds.  I then used various stems to create a grass effect on the bottom of each piece of white cardstock.
  • I used the Hey Chick stamp set and dies with the Cut and Emboss Machine to cut out the chicks which I then stamped on the card front.
  • I used the Simply Stitched label set run through the Cut and Emboss Machine to create the labels.
  • I decorated the inside sections with the fence, sign, and egg and sentiments

STAMPIN'UP TOWER CARDS

The Tower Card is a great design.  The four sides allow you to show off any Designer Series Paper and send a message for any event.  It looks much more complicated than it really is.  The best part is that it folds flat so it easily fits in an envelope.  I love this card design.  I used the Stampin'Up Hydrangea Haven Bundle and Petite Pairs Stamp Set (retired) in creating this card.

Measurements:

1 card center 4 1/4” X 14 1/4”. Score at 1”, 2”, 3” and 4” (leaving 1/4” on one end).

4 pieces of cardstock 4 1/4 X 2 3/4”;

4 pieces white cardstock 21/2” X 4” and 1 piece of white cardstock 1 1/2” X 4”

4 pieces of DSP 1 3/4” X 2 1/2” and 2 pieces of DSP 11/2” X 4”.

4 pieces of ribbon 3 1/2” long

Instructions:

  • Score card center at 1", 2" 3" and 4", leaving 1/4" on one end.  Fold inward on each score line to form a square tube.  Place adhesive along the 1/4" strip and adhere to the end of the first section.
  • Adhere each 4 1/4" X 2 3/4" piece of cardstock to the four separate sections of the square tube.
  • Adhere the 1 3/4" 2 1/2" pieces of DSP onto the bottom of the 2 1/2" X 4" white card stock.  Cover the seams by placing a strip of ribbon along each, folding and adhering the ends to the back of the white cardstock.  I used the Stampin'Up Purple posy ribbon (retired).
  • Adhere each of these pieces of white cardstock to each of the four pieces of cardstock on the square tube.
  • Adhere the 1 1/2" X 4 pieces of DSP and the 1 1/2" X 4 piece of strip of cardstock visible on the backside of each 4 1/4" X 2 3/4" piece of cardstock.
  • Stamp desired sentiments on white cardstock.  Choose a die to cut out the sentiment.  Mount this piece on cardstock or coordinating cardstock.
  • Decorate each section as desired.
Here are some other samples of Tower Cards using different DSP to illustrate how versatile this card is.
